THE WILDERNESS WITHIN

Dare to enter within, dare to explore her soul,
A place of misery, of bitter cold.
Another world it seems, in the throes of such devastation,
With nature harsh and unforgiving, an untamed destination.

The world within her is a wilderness,
All shadowed skies and jutting cliffs,
Barren lands and ashen floors,
Deep ravines and darkened moors.

Most days are spent under gloomy skies
With a ceaseless thunder that echoes.
A sort of mirthless place to lie,
And dwell on never ending sorrows

Sprawled beneath these heavens coloured in shades of angst and irk,
Rivers of despair run deep and far,
Agony tainted waters flow into the dark,
And therein lies a roiling sea of hurt.

But this girl whom which this land lies in,
Who is beauty and chaos interwined,
Continues on with a weary hope,
With a dreamers soul and wandering mind.

As she gazes up towards the sky
Weilding a sword made up of scars,
She wears her pain like battle armour,
And in such dark, looks up at the stars.
