AGAINST TIME

This vast expanse of iridescence,

Charted time and time again,

Millennia and millennia again -

But to each 'tis his own journey, a sea of twisting chance.

In this fleet of ships you see,

You may happen to glance at mine,

A lone, uncertain little craft,

Lost among the foam and time.

Sometimes I think I glimpse the shore,

And I have reached my end,

But alas the tide does not stop for me,

And I am back again:

In a fleet of ships and boats,

I navigate in mine,

A lone, uncertain little craft,

Lost among the foam and time.

I hope my little boat can make it,

Before it melts into the brine,

I hope my little boat can make it,

Until I reach the shoreline.
